Train Mishap Kills 12 People in Bavaria

In February, a Deutsche Bahn train controller was playing a game on his mobile phone and diverted two trains coming from opposite directions onto the same track, leading to a head-on collision and the worst train crash in Bavaria in more than 40 years. He was sentenced to three and a half years in prison in December for the disaster near a spa town, Bad Aibling, that killed 12 and left 89 injured.
