Apart from the headline consumption (2016: 6.1 million liters), the world's largest beer festival churns out curious statistics including the numbers for oxen eaten (127), incidents of mug-stealing prevented (120,000) and lost children (5). The event drew 6.2 million visitors, up from 5.6 million last year.
