Don't be surprised if you visit the Brandenburg Gate: three upended buses will be on display in front of Berlin's hallmark. The vehicles are an installation called "Monument" by German-Syrian artist Manaf Halbouni. They mimic a defensive barricade erected in Aleppo, in Syria, to protect people from sniper fire. He didn't say it literally, but it sounds a lot like: break up this 170-year old engineering giant.

Deal or No Deal
Fewer Germans think a coalition of Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats, the pro-business Free Democrats and the Green Party is good for Germany, although 68 percent believed the three parties will succeed in forming a government. The so-called ‘Jamaica’ formation, named after the parties’ colors, has been in negotiations for three weeks and the chancellor has set November 16 as the deadline to reach a deal.

Germany’s tax revenues will rise to an estimated €851 billion ($991 billion) in 2022 from €712 billion expected this year. Rising wages and corporate profits as well as more jobs are boosting the treasury’s coffers. The likely new 'Jamaica' coalition government is expected to spend most of the additional income, but keep the overall budget balanced as it has been since 2014.
