The consulting industry in Germany will grow by up to eight percent to €27 billion ($28 billion) due to strong demand for services related to digitalization, according to forecasts that Handelsblatt obtained from the German Association of Corporate Consultants.
The four major accounting and consulting firms – Deloitte, PwC, EY and KPMG – have grown at the fastest pace. According to Handelsblatt calculations, they grew on average by more than a fourth in the area of corporate consulting during the 2015-2016 fiscal year.
When the figures are controlled for the effects from mergers and acquisitions, the four major firms still saw their consulting revenues increase by double digits.
In the area of accounting services, by contrast, they only grew by around two percent.
