This is how a job vacancy ad could read for the top position at German fashion house Hugo Boss:

“Help wanted: Fashion executive with international management experience in a luxury corporation, preferably Armani, Gucci or Dior. Must be satisfied with salary of  €2.5 million ($2.8 million) per year and would gladly exchange living in New York, Paris or Milan for a southwestern German village.”

Hugo Boss, the global fashion company is based in the small city of Metzingen in the southwestern state of Baden-Würrtemberg, and it is seeking a replacement for former chief executive, Claus-Dietrich Lahrs.

Michel Perraudin, the head of the supervisory board, sacked the former Dior executive in February shortly after a profit warning.  Mr. Lahrs had been in charge of the fashion group for seven years.
