The man helping lead one of China’s big players in the business of international sports has major name recognition. Philippe Blatter of the Dalian Wanda Group is the nephew of Sepp Blatter, the former head of world soccer federation FIFA.
But Philippe Blatter is also a heavyweight in his own right, having run Swiss sports-rights firm Infront for more than a decade.
Infront was bought in February by the Dalian Wanda Group, owned by China’s richest man, Wang Jianlin. He named Mr. Blatter to head the company’s sports division last year.
